Our hammer boxes are supplied with a range of options, including a bus version and a rail version which is compliant to EN45545. They can be supplied as enclosure boxes for other equipment. We offer a colour match service should you wish to match your livery. We can also re-design our standard boxes to meet your requirements. Please note that the hammers are designed to be operated with toughened (or tempered) glass windows only.

Hammer Boxes on Buses

The bus version is made from tough and durable ABS. The finished hammer box can be flush mounted or surface mounted and can be attached to the bulkhead with either screws or tape. The hammers are set behind Safeglass, the award winning material which is easy to break and safer than glass alternatives. The complete box comes ready to be fitted. They have been designed to make it easy to replace the Safeglass should it become accidentally broken. Spare break glasses and hammers can be purchased separately.

Hammers are normally the small, T-shaped hammer, suitable for single glazed toughened glass windows. They can be supplied with a retractable cord which prevents theft by tethering the hammer to the box. Optionally, the hammers with handshield can be supplied – these are normally used on trains and are more suitable for double-glazed toughened glass windows. The handshield typoe can also be supplied with the cord.

Hammer Boxes for Trains

The railway version is made from metal so that it complies with EN45545 Railway standards. This standard refers to how the enclosure box performs when exposed to fire. The box can be finished with a choice of tape to attach to the bulkhead or screws holes which can be drilled in accordance with your instructions. The complete box comes ready to be fitted. They have been designed to make it easy to replace the Safeglass should it become accidentally broken. Spare break glasses and hammers can be purchased separately.

These hammer boxes are normally supplied with a hammer with a handshield. This is more suitable for double glazed toughened glass windows that the small, T-hammer counerpart. The T-hammer is better suited to single glazed window units. The hammers can be supplied with a cord to prevent theft.
